Blackthorn Wood was created in 1992 to fill the void in the local market for golf practice facilities because, although Corby has a local municiple course, Priors Hall, and numerous private golf clubs in the surrounding area, there was no real dedicated practice facilities where golfers could practice and play golf or where beginners could take up the game without playing on full size golf courses, which for some can be quite intimidating!
Our Golf Driving Range was opened in April 1992 and our 9 Hole Golf Course was opened in 1995. Following the success of the Golf Driving Range and the Golf Course we built and opened our Clubhouse in 1996 at Christmas.
Blackthorn Wood has continued to flourish, having established ourselves in the golf market by providing affordable good quality golfing facilities for everyone. Blackthorn Wood Golf Society and many regular weekend and mid week groups enjoy the golf range and course come rain or shine!
